jackie • August 6, 2024

Golden, Colorado, is a unique and charming city nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains just 15 miles West of Denver, and right off highway 70 giving it easy access to mountain activities.

And let’s not forget, Golden is home to Coors Brewery, the largest single site brewery in the world!

Golden truly is a very special place to live. And here are just a few of the MANY reasons why:

An Outdoor Mecca:

On any given day in Golden, CO you will find people mountain biking, hiking, paragliding off of Lookout Mountain, rock climbing, or rafting down Clear Creek Canyon. It is an outdoorsmen paradise to day the least!

And you cannot beat the views. The city is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including Lookout Mountain and the Table Mountains, offering panoramic views and outdoor recreational opportunities. When people move to Colorado looking to enjoy the outdoors and be close to the city, Golden is usually the town they fall in love with.

Historic Charm:

Golden was founded during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush in 1859 and has a rich Western history. Historic buildings, like the Astor House Museum and the Colorado School of Mines, contribute to the city’s charming atmosphere.

Cultural Events:

Golden hosts a variety of community events and festivals throughout the year, such as the Buffalo Bill Days, the Golden Fine Arts Festival, and the Olde Golden Christmas.

Small-Town Feel with Modern Amenities:

Golden has a thriving local business scene, including unique shops, restaurants, and breweries. The historic downtown area is particularly charming, with well-preserved architecture and a walkable layout.

Sustainability and Environmental Focus:

Golden has several initiatives aimed at sustainability and preserving the environment, such as the GoFarm community agriculture program and efforts to enhance public transportation options.

Not to Miss:

Why not combine the best of both worlds with an afternoon bike ride or hike up North Table Mountain, followed by a beer at New Terrain Brewery? This brewery always has a crowd, it almost makes you wonder if anyone works in Golden. Here you are surrounded by gorgeous views, and there is always extra entertainment be it a food truck, live music, or even yoga.
